Obituary of Randall Joseph Dean

Please share a memory of Randall to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

July 26, 1965 – December 20, 2020

Randall Joseph Dean known and loved by all as “Randy”, passed away at the U of A Hospital in Edmonton, AB awaiting a lung transplant; after a long, courageous battle with a rare lung disease.

Randy was born and raised in Kimberley, B.C. His home neighborhood was on Rotary near the pool and arena – his two favourite spots. He was self employed for many years running a successful landscaping/snow removal business and worked at the local golf courses. Randy loved spending time with his family especially his niece Haylie and nephew Brayden. They had a very special bond. He also loved animals. Randy gave many volunteer hours to the Kimberley Food Bank, and the Kimberley Dynamiter Hockey Club. Randy worked with/for the Nitros for approximately 30 years and would never miss a game unless there were some extenuating circumstances. He worked with the Hockey Team assisting in the dressing room, getting equipment ready etc, going on road trips, helping at the door. He is best known for selling the 50/50 tickets. Randy showed his love for Kimberley by volunteering at many functions and when Randy’s health started to deteriorate, the community showed their love for him, and Randy was incredibly grateful. We thank you all.

Randy is survived by his father Ennio, his sister Helen (Grant) Farquhar, his niece Haylie and nephew Brayden, as well as many other relatives in Canada and Italy. He was pre-deceased by his mother Luciana.

In remembrance of Randy, one can make donations to the Kimberley Food Bank, or the SPCA. Also please consider becoming an Organ Donor, and last but not least “don’t forget to buy your 50/50”.

Arrangements entrusted to McPherson Funeral Services.
