Looking forward to the celebration of your life on Saturday, Grandpa. We sure do miss you. You were always such a wise and humourous contribution to our family. It was not until my late teen years that I finally questioned why "eating carrots make hair grow on your chest" and why I would want such an event to occur. You can rest easy now knowing that I do eat my veggies, and without the fear that I will become a hairy-beasted woman. Love you always.

Gerry, Linda & family. Wish we could be there on Saturday to share in the "Celebration of Bud's life". Gerry, thanks for sharing your Dad with us for so many years on all those special family occasions - we will miss him. Never will forget his "sense of humor" and that "special smile"

Bud has been on our minds today....he was such a charmer and always poking fun! I remember when Les told him that I was pregnant. Bud being Bud, didn't congratulate him - instead he called him "clumsy" !!...Sooo funny !
The next time Les called Bud at home.. Bud said "oh - hello clumsy"... =)
Love you Bud

Sorry to hear of "Bud's" passing, Gerry and Linda and family. He was always such a nice compliment to the crowd to have coffee with in the mornings in the Cranbrook Mall when we were all the old gang at OJ's. He always had a great story or a good joke to play on somebody and you tried hard to sit the furthest away just in case you were the target of the day. We all felt like we knew the Haida Gwaii almost as well as he did with all his in depth stories and fishing tales. He will be missed!! Our sympathy Larry and Carol York

Bud has been a part of our lives for many, many years here on Haida Gwaii. I remember how easily he became so close to Les (my husband) - they would be out in the inlet in Skidegate for hours and hours on a little skiff...only God knows what they talked about for all those hours, but I'm sure it was time filled with mischief and laughter. I'm going to miss his visits and his witty sense of humor....you will always be in our hearts Bud. I hope the fish are biting up there...with love, Joanne

Bud was a mentor, friend and a second father to me. He nurtured my interest in electronics, building a test bench that I still use today, and would give me any discarded electronic gear that would foster my interest in electronics. Bud also taught me the fine art of driving a car that had a standard transmission, a skill that has served me well!
He always kept an interest in our family, and as my sister and I grew older, an interest in our new young families as well.
Most of all, Bud was a caring, selfless person who rejoiced in your happiness and partook of your sadness. He remembered us on our birthdays and at Christmas; indeed his absence this Christmas was keenly and sadly felt. He was blessed with a rich sense if humour, and the stories and jokes that he told will be lovingly remembered.
Although we weren't family related, he was still kin to me; he was always called "Uncle Bud" for so he was to my sister and I.
He has passed on, reunited with Aunt Shirley in Paradise, free from the physical pain that he endured this past while. We will remember him always, with fondness.

My best memory of Bud is huckleberry picking with him and my Dad. He was a great person and a great friend to my family.

I have know Bud and his family for many years. The last few years I have also had the honour to share a hug and a smile on his many visits to the East Kootenay Regional Hospital. A quiet man with a huge presence. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. I will miss him. My thoughts go out to his Ron & Kay, Gerry & Linda and the many other members of the MacIntyre family. Sincerely, Leigh and Donna Grainger
