December 30, 1970 – January 27, 2021

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Joseph Duane “Joe, Joey” Blanchard of Dawson Creek, B.C., on January 27th, 2021, at the age of 50.

Joe was born December 30, 1970 to Bryne and Louise Blanchard, in Fort Nelson, B.C. Shortly after his birth, Joe’s family moved back to Kimberley where he grew up as the older brother of three. After high school, Joe moved on quickly, spending a lot of time in different cities and towns, working at various jobs, and making even more friends. One of his greatest moments was the birth of his daughter Jordyn Marie Blanchard and his love for he is something without compare. Quite mechanically inclined, Joe loved working with his hands, and could usually be found outside or in a shop, building or fixing something to make it work better for him. Joe did a lot of different things over his short lifetime, and he did most of those things quite well, golf and baseball, fishing, and camping, working on cars and home improvements. Joe was quite the renaissance man. He will be greatly missed as he had a large number of friends and was loved by so many.

Joe is survived by his spouse, Anne of Dawson Creek, B.C., daughter Jordyn, of Brantford, Ontario, his parents Bryne & Louise, of Kimberley, B.C., brother James of Cranbrook, B.C., sister Michelle (Todd), of Kimberley, B.C., nieces and nephews, Melissa, Nick, Isabella and Liam, grandmother Eileen and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Ida & Joe Sicotte, and his paternal grandfather Earl Blanchard, all of Kimberley, B.C.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Joe at a later date.

Arrangements entrusted to McPherson Funeral Services.
