Obituary of Ann Louise Perry

Please share a memory of Ann to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

November 13, 1960 – April 26, 2021

In the early morning of April 26, 2021, with her beloved Brian at her side, our dearest Ann Louise Perry passed away suddenly at home in Marysville, B.C., at the age of 60.

Ann was born in Calgary, Alberta on November 13, 1960, to Deloris & Peter Foster. She was best known in her later years as “Ortho Annie” and to those who were blessed enough to know and work with her, she embodied the very essence of what nursing is. Over the many years she worked as an operating room nurse, she precepted and mentored many young minds and always made sure patient care and safety was everyone’s priority. Ann could put a smile on anyone’s face and always went the extra mile for every celebration including Christmas party planning, baby room decorating and retirement plans. From toilet papering people’s cars, filling their gloves with gel, or soaking their entire back with fluids at a time they least expected it, retirement pranks were her specialty. She had innumerable pranks planned specific to each and every person.

Ann met the love of her life Brian, in the late 1980’s while camping. Ann quickly became Brian’s life energy, his every breath and on August 23, 2008, Ann and Brian invited guests over for a summer BBQ and surprised everyone with a wedding in their backyard. With a strong love for the outdoors, hiking in the mountains and golfing, they relocated from Calgary to Marysville, B.C. in 2009 and never looked back. Every morning Ann woke up with a bright smile and a love for the adventure that awaited each day. She could often be found snuggled on the couch with all her fur babies around while she multitasked on her phone mastering Candy Crush. Ann had an immeasurable love for all of God’s creatures. She was a Snow White to her animals and will be missed by Petey the rabbit, Oswald the flying squirrel, and all the various birds who made safe haven at Ann’s Oasis.

Ann was set to retire on June 4, 2021, from an amazing career to join her beloved on the golf course. She often joked she would retire on a Monday. “I’m going out on a Monday, so I’ll be the only happy person starting that work week.”  True to her work, Ann went to the eternal golf game on a Monday.

Ann leaves behind her loving husband Brian, their 4 fur babies, Willy, Fergus, Rosie and Petey along with countless other people whose lives will forever be better for knowing our beautiful Ann.

Ann was predeceased by her mother Deloris and father Peter.

A Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date, when it is safe to gather in a fashion befitting to a legend.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ann’s honour to the SPCA.

Arrangements entrusted to McPherson Funeral Services.
