Obituary of Aaron Jeffrey Luke-Hamm

Please share a memory of Aaron to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

1989 - 2021

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Aaron Jeffrey Hamm (Luke). After 31 years of living an intense and charismatic life and 15 years of struggling with addiction, Aaron has gone to the Great Spirit, the mighty God who gave him to us as a son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, uncle, and friend, who will not be forgotten but will be remembered as intensely as he lived.

Aaron was born on November 5, 1989, to parents Diane (Badzioch) Hamm and Shawn Luke.

He grew up in the town of Cranbrook and loved to explore nature, learn about anything that caught his interest and gathered a huge network of friends. He embraced life with eagerness and a sense of bravado. His Nana and Jaja were special people in his life, and he spent many hours with them, being cared for and caring for them. Aaron was passionate about art, and as he grew into a young man, he had an angel tattooed on one shoulder and a demon tattooed on the other. He was aware of this conflict within himself and shone as brightly as he could even when the darkness chased him. In 2017 Aaron had the opportunity to take many huge steps toward living his best life, moving to Vancouver, and walking the road of recovery.  He started making peace with himself and then with the world around him, embracing the life that he yearned for, navigating the obstacles that still lay before him.  Aaron was able to spend many months over the past year doing the things he loved; reconnecting with family, working out at the gym, cooking gourmet meals, creating art pieces in the shop, honing his rapper style, and barbering, particularly his signature Fresh Fade.

Aaron leaves to mourn his parents, Brad and Diane Hamm, his father, Shawn Luke, brother, Brennen (Hannah Adam) Hamm, sister Serena Pinch, nephew Wyatt Campbell, grandparents Jill and John Badzioch, George and Marion Hamm as well as many loving aunts, uncles and cousins who were very special to Aaron.

Aaron was predeceased by his grandmother Merle Luke, grandfather Robert Luke, his aunt Debby Temple, his beloved cousin Dustin Luke who he loved like a brother, as well as far too many dear friends that he missed with his whole heart.

A Funeral Service will be held for Aaron on July 17th, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Cranbrook Alliance Church. All are welcome to attend, we will be in compliance with all Covid rules, max capacity will be 400.
