With great sadness, the family of Fred Burrin announce his passing on June 8, 2021, at the Kelowna General Hospital.

Fred was born in Kimberley, and spent the majority of his life here. He lived in Grande Prairie, for a very brief time. Fred started working at the Kimberley Ski Hill when he was in grade 9 and continued to work there for 40 years. He worked at Bootleg Golf Course in the summers and was employed there for 20 years. He loved working outdoors. Fred was an avid NASCAR fan, he loved #88 Dale Earnhardt Jr., and he had a huge collection of #88 memorabilia. His Sundays were spent watching races. Fred also enjoyed fly fishing on the St. Mary’s river and rock collecting. He had a secret spot where he found quartz crystals. Fred learned to play drums in high school and had many a jam session in the basement.

Fred will be deeply missed by his wife Donna, son Bryant & Heather (Zealand & Dane), son Fred & Laura (Briar Rose), daughter Destiny, parents Marg & Fred Burrin, sister Charlene & Glen welsh, nephew Dane & Courtlynd, sister Holly & Tim Thygesen, nephew Ryan & Tierra, niece Taylor & Reid.

There will not be a service, a private family gathering will be held at a later date.
