Obituary of Robert Roy Bodie

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Roy Bodie, in Cranbrook, BC, on August 2nd at the age of 75 years.  He fought a lengthy and courageous battle against Wegener’s Disease and endured dialysis three times a week for several years. 

 

Bob will be remembered for his great sense of humour and his love of golf.  He was a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother.

 

Left to mourn his loss are his wife Elaine; daughters Kimberly Bodie (Tom) and Pamela Churchill (Robert); grandsons Kyle Bodie (Sabrina), Sterling Churchill; Darion Churchill; granddaughter Chelsea Churchill; two great-grandsons Sydohr Lee (Bodie) and Ryker Butt (Churchill) and step-great grandsons Aroh and Ohlyn Lee. 

Bob also left behind his brothers Jim (Jean) and Jerry (Brenda) his sister Wendy Schultz and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents (Marr/Bernice Bodie), sister (Barbara Miller), niece (Carrie Miller), his infant great-grandson (Hunter Churchill) and his brother in-law Alf Schultz. 

 

We are so thankful for Nathan, Jill and other staff in the dialysis unit who cared for Bob. Seeing you always put a twinkle in his eye. 

As per his wishes, cremation has taken place and no funeral service will be held.  In lieu of flowers, friends and family are invited to make a donation to the Cranbrook Dialysis Unit in his name.
