Obituary of Lawrence Alta Simon

“Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body but rather to skid broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and proclaiming ‘Wow, what a ride!” This describes Lawrence - husband, father, grandfather, greatgrandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

Anybody who knew Lawrence understood it was always do, do more, work hard, work harder and repeat; when it came to fun and life it was the same: laugh, laugh harder, have fun, and above all: live! He was dedicated, determined and loyal but above all he was a family man; it is with sadness we say farewell.

Lawrence leaves behind Bonnie, his wife of 60 years; his children: Alan, June (Dan), Paul (Melody), Lynn (Mike) and Dawn; his grandchildren: Caleb (Hilary), Hannah, Ben; Shaili (Adam), Sarah, Lawrence, Seth, Ethan; Brette, Devin, Brooke (Nick), Peyton, Conner; Aidan, Ashton and Hailey; his great-grand-children Georgia, Elwood, Sophia, Ella, Violet, Judah, Javen, Jerzy, and Bentley. He is survived by his brother Floyd; predeceased by his parents: Alti and Elizabeth, siblings: Lily, Lance, Neil, Wilfred, Katherine, and Caroline.
