Margaret “Ellen” Cuppen (Flint) (nee DeArmond)

October 16, 1930 – October 20, 2021

In the early evening of Wednesday, October 20, 2021, 4 days past her 91st birthday Ellen passed away peacefully and was guided to Heaven by the Angels to receive her wings.

Ellen was born on October 16, 1930, in Saskatoon, Sask to Lester & Ethel DeArmond. The youngest of 4 children and the only girl, Ellen had a very special bond with her brothers and learned at a very young age how to wrap them around her little finger. As a single mother with 3 young children, Ellen worked her way through accounting at Bailey, Rogers & Rose to the Office Manager and Accountant at Columbia Natural Gas where she worked until she retired in 1992.

After her children were grown, in the summer of 1976 Ellen married William Cuppen. Ellen & Bill both loved to travel but their favorite vacation destination was Maui, Hawaii where they made many special memories until his health no longer allowed them to travel.

Ellen is survived by her children Brian (Tisha) Flint, Barry (Shannon) Flint and Susan Russell, her 7 grandchildren Jennifer Flint (Cam Costello), Brian (Jennifer) Flint, Cori (Marc) Pelletier, Kristina (Mitchell) Guest, Scott (Jennifer) Russell and Emma and Sarah Flint. She also leaves her 12 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren as well as her extended Cuppen Families and several nieces and nephews who considered her their “Favorite” aunty.

She was predeceased by her husband William Cuppen, parents Lester & Ethel DeArmond, brothers, and sister-in-laws Clarence (Mary), Rupert (Myrtle) and Keith DeArmond, first husband and father of her children David Flint, and many special friends.

There will be no service at this time.

The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to Dr Illona Amstutz and to Phyllis and John at the Comfort Care Home for their compassion and loving care of our Mom/Grandma/GG for the past 4 ½ years.

The Rose Beyond the Wall

A rose once grew where all could see sheltered beside a garden wall.

And, as the days passed swiftly by, it spread its branches straight and tall...

One day, a beam of light shone through a crevice that had opened wide

The rose bent gently toward its warmth then passed beyond to the other side...

Now, you who deeply feel its loss. be comforted the rose blooms there

Its beauty even greater now, nurtured by God's own loving care.
