Obituary of Herb Stanyer

1924 - 2011

Herb Stanyer, born May 30, 1924, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2011.

He is survived by his devoted loving wife Angela; daughter Roxanne Coates (Simon) of Valemount, British Columbia; sister Lois Stewart (Dick) of North Bay, Ontario; sister Lorraine Colton (Bill) of Wasa, British Columbia; Marvin Stanyer (Judy) of Kimberley, British Columbia; Maxine Young (Roger) of Cranbrook, British Columbia and Richard Stanyer (Chris) of Wasa, British Columbia.

Herb spent time overseas during the second world war and was lucky enough to have travelled on both the Queen Elizabeth and the Queen Mary. He was very instrumental in the restoration of Ft. Steele. Herb will be sorely missed by all his family, friends and many many nieces, nephews and cousins. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Canadian Caner Society would be appreciated.
