Pastor Kelley Poirier

Obituary of Pastor Kelley Leon Poirier

Please share a memory of Pastor Kelley to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

With great sadness the family of Pastor Kelley Poirier announces his sudden passing at the age of 53, in Cranbrook, B.C.

Kelley was full of adventure, hard work, and love. There was never a challenge that he didn’t meet head on. That included all the people that God put in his life. He saw all people the way God saw them, with unconditional love, and with a passion to heal their wounds and heartaches and bring them to their full potential in the joy that comes from a relationship with Jesus Christ. Whether you had known Kelley for years or if you had just met him on the street you knew that he cared. He would go out of his way to help anybody and he spent hours talking with people to be able to show them the love of Jesus. Kelley would have been the first to tell you that he wasn’t perfect but he would also tell you that that is how he knew that God’s love was unconditional and the grace that came from Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross was real. Nobody was too far gone for Kelley because nobody is too far gone for God. Every day there was new hope because of grace.

Kelley always talked about the day that he would get to go home to heaven. He had a huge list of questions that he wanted to ask God and he also had a list of adventures that he wanted to go on when he got there. We’re sad that we will no longer have adventures with him here, but we are truly excited to join him when we get to heaven ourselves.

Kelley is survived by his wife Christel and son James, daughter Clorisa and her husband Phil, grandchildren Emilly, Kayeith, Mateah and Tessah, son Marc, daughter Marita with grandson Jordan, sister Brigitte, and nieces Kendra and Londen, his father Marc Poirier and wife Eleanor, and his mother Aija Osis.
