Domenico “Dick” Ferraro passed away peacefully on December 27, 2021, at the age of 86 with family by his side.

Domenico immigrated from Reggio Calabria, Italy to Canada in 1957. Having learned the masonry trade in Torino, Italy, he was able to establish a successful business in Kimberley, B.C. Domenico married Rosa in 1958, and they raised four children together. Rosa and Domenico enjoyed entertaining friends and family. Their home was a welcoming place and the setting for many fond memories. Throughout his life, Domenico enjoyed hunting, fishing, making wine, bocci, music, and gardening. He was a man known for his integrity and generosity of spirit, and he will be greatly missed.

Domenico is survived by Rosa, his wife of 63 years, his sister Maria, children Frank, (Jen Bunce) Tino (daughter-in-law, Bettina, grandchildren Natalie, Nicholas, and Alexander), Nancy (son-in-law Vladimir Sigur, grandchildren Katarina and Kristian), Jeanette (grandchildren Alistair, Shannon, and Austin), as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the third-floor care staff at East Kootenay Regional Hospital.
