1926 - 2010

It is with deep sorrow that the family of Ella Adeline Pavlis announces her passing at Joseph Creek Care Village on Saturday, May 29, 2010 at 83 years of age.

Ella was born on June 4, 1926 in Disley, Saskatchewan. Ella met Andy, the love of her life, and they moved from Saskatchewan to British Columbia. She operated the Wardner Post Office from 1960 - 1969. Due to health complications, Ella had to leave her employment. She moved to Cranbrook in 1969 and remained here until her passing. Over the years, Ella spent much of her free time doing crossword puzzles, scratching her favourite lottery tickets, playing bingo and chatting on the phone with her friends. Ella lived her last 2 1/2 years at Joseph Creek Care Village where she made many dear friends.

Ella is survived by her daughter Linda (Cary) Holm; her son John (Cathy) Pavlis; her grandson's: Blaine (Ronnie) Holm, Kerby (Tanya) Holm, Colin Pavlis and Justin (Lori) Pavlis; 8 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Andy, her parents, and her brothers and sisters.

A memorial service for Ella will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at 1:00 pm at the McPherson Funeral Home in Cranbrook. Her Interment will take place in Westlawn Cemetery. Those wishing to make a memorial donation in honour of Ella may do so to the: Canadian Cancer Society, 19 - 9th Avenue South, Cranbrook, British Columbia, V1C 2L9.
