       1958 - 2021

It is with great sadness that the family of Roy John William MacFadyen announces his passing on November 22, 2021, in Cranbrook, B.C.

Roy and his family moved to Cranbrook from Cobourg, Ontario when Roy was 14.  After graduating from Mount Baker Secondary School, he went to Burnaby, B.C., to attend British Columbia Institute of Technology.  He graduated from the Civil and Structural Engineering program.  He loved drafting and throughout his career he would draft by hand, the traditional method.  Roy moved throughout BC and settled in Nanaimo with his partner Eldeen.  In 2017 he moved back to Cranbrook.

Roy loved sports, especially playing golf, baseball and darts.  He was passionate about the Toronto Maple Leafs and never missed watching a hockey game.  He was kind, giving and had a great sense of humour.  He was the type of person who would do anything for anyone and not expect anything in return.

Roy is survived by his mom, Margaret and sisters, Janette (Steve), Rosemary (Erik) and Cindy (Dickson); his niece Morgan, nephews Riky and George; Eldeen’s daughter, Shawna (Kyle) and her children Doug and Theodore; and many family and friends.  His beloved dog Jordie is living with Cindy and Dickson.

Roy was predeceased by his dad, Peter and his partner, Eldeen.

Arrangements entrusted to McPherson Funeral Services.
