Obituary of Marga Inge Fercho

Please share a memory of Marga to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Marga Inge Fercho was born in Lykusen, Germany on June 8, 1939. She passed away peacefully on June 24, 2022 in Kimberley, BC with her family at her side. Marga’s parents and her five siblings, Elfriede (Bert – deceased) Bossert, Arnold Jewan, Heinz (Bev) Jewan, Kurt (Sharon) Jewan, and Gerry (Wayne) Ferguson, immigrated to Canada in 1953. She is predeceased by her mother Ottilie Jewan.

Marga chose to make Cranbrook, BC her home to raise her family. The most important thing to Marga was her family, especially her three sons, Mark Fercho, Grant Fercho, and John (Michelle) Fercho. She adored her grandchildren Jace Fercho and Jadlyn Fercho and her step-grandchildren Kayla Carley, Amanda Carley, and Cory Bannick. She came from a large family and will missed by each and every one of them. Both the Jewan and Fercho families loved her deeply.

Marga had a lifelong career as a hairdresser and performed this service with care and skill. She enjoyed the connection and socializing with so many over the years that then became lifelong friends.

Marga valued love and kindness and spread it wherever she went. She was the embodiment of love and that was reflected back to her by everyone that she touched. Marga’s last words were “Try everything!” She knew what mattered most in life, to live it to the fullest and to live it with love.

A special thanks to Dr. Kate Buddo and all of the staff at the Kimberley Special Care Home for their amazing care; they are angels. The family will be forever grateful for their love and support in Marga’s final years.

There will be no service at the request of Marga. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada to further dementia research at https://alzheimer.ca/en.
