Obituary of Frank Feil

Please share a memory of Frank to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Frank Feil, affectionately known as “Dad” or “Opa” passed away April 2,2022 at Cranbrook Regional Hospital.  Frank was born on May 11, 1940 and was raised to live the farming life but WW2 had other ideas and the family was relocated from Hungary to Germany in 1946. In 1955 Frank went to Trade School and became a Journeyman Carpenter, he truly enjoyed his trade. Frank loved carpentry and he worked very hard to provide for his family.  By 1959 he met and fell in love with the love of his life Gertrude. Gertrude and Frank spent the next 64 years growing their family, they raised five children, 7 grandchildren and five great grand children.  In July of 1979 Frank moved his family to Cranbrook BC and for the next 43 years Frank and his family enjoyed the Kootenay Lifestyle: watching his family grow, growing a beautiful garden, building in his workshop and having countless adventures into the woods, surrounding lakes and rivers. In 2002 he finally retired from his beloved trade as a Carpenter and set out to enjoy the Golden Years, he always said retirement was the busiest time of his life.

Gertrude and her children send sincere thanks to Dr Wik and Arlene, the Doctors and Nurses at the East Kootenay Region Hospital and the many Paramedics and Firefighters that attended and help Frank during his last days
