Wanda &Travis, so sorry to hear this news. Condolences to you and your family. It’s been forever but I have fond memories of your mom. She always treated my sisters and I as her own when we were around. Hope all is well with you. Take care.

Harry and I were very saddened to hear of Joan’s passing. Although we only met a few years ago, meeting her was very important to us and her effervescent, friendly and dynamic personality shone through. I remember the last time we got together she invited me to join her on her next golf game. I wish we had had time to do that. Travis, wishing you and your family no more sorrow and know we are thinking of you with lots of love.
Love Harry and Sue

I did not know Joan unfortunately; she was my father, Dennis Smith’s sister. My cousin Kerri was kind enough to advise me of “Auntie Joanie’s” passing. I do not know my dad’s side of the family because I was mostly estranged from Dennis a large part of my life. After reading the condolences and hearing from Kerri, it is obvious Joan was a strong force, a giver and as Kerri puts it the “fun one”! I really wish I had the chance to know Joan during my life. I am sending my love and my sincerest condolences to her family. God Bless. ~ Shannon Denise Smith ~

Joan was my Mother-in-law, she was a strong tough cookie and I mean that with true appreciation because those are my kind of women, She was also my kids, Ashlee & Andrew’s Grandma, Sol’s Great Grandma. And to my husband Brent, she was the world, she was the best conversations every Sunday morning, she was the smile on his face, she was his Mom, and he loved her..

Joan was an important part of our Red Cross family and gave so much of herself to the community she served. We felt blessed to have her on our team. Having met Joan on several occasions over the years, I could always count on having a lively, passionate conversation with her and Sally that sometimes finished with a lovely hug or a bit of laughter. We will miss her dearly. My condolences to all of Joan's family, friends and colleagues. With deepest sympathy, Jo-Anne Welsh.

Our sincere sympathies to Joan’s family and friends. She was a good friend and we had many good times together with her and Daryl in Arizona. She was a special person and I’m going to miss the long phone conversations we’ve had recently. We’ll miss her, may she Rest In Peace.

I was fortunate enough to work with Joan this past year at the Red Cross and enjoyed our visits and telephone calls on my depot tours. I was truly saddened to hear of her passing. Joan was an extraordinary woman with an effervescent personality. There are many in the community who will also be deeply mourning her passing as hers was a life of service, compassion and love. My deepest condolences to the family and friends. She will be forever in our hearts.
