Born: June 8th, 1916 in Medicine Hat, Alberta

Passed Away: February 2nd, 2011 at the FW Green Home in Cranbrook, British Columbia

a loving heart…a gentle spirit…a beautiful soul

My mom came to Cranbrook at the age of 6 months and has been a resident ever since. She was home schooled, attended high school and then trained at the St. Eugene School of nursing graduating in 1937. In 1940 she married my dad George. She followed her profession almost continuously until 1981 when she retired. Mom was an active member of Christ Church throughout her life and also a working member of the St. Eugene hospital nurses alumnae. As we all know, her passions were knitting and reading and her unfaltering love for family and friends.

Mom is survived by her loving daughter Diana (Marty Amy), her grandchildren Jason (Nicole), Kyle (Lori), Jody (Laura),Veronica, Carla (Ryan) and Wes (Chrystal). Her great-grandchildren and greatest joy, Dale (who called her G.G. and was the light of her life),

Elaina (which is Dutch for Helen that honored her), and the newest member of the family Farren Grace, Tommy and Jacob, Sky, Carlee and Brandon, Courtney, Alyssa and Rylan.

Her sister Margot Randall of Sparwood (nephews John and William), numerous nieces and nephews at the coast, daughter in laws Cathy and Terry and family and dear friends all over the world. Mom was predeceased by her parents Marion (Rumsey) and Cornelius van Braam, my dad George, her son Norman, her son David, her granddaughter Dawn and son in law Dale.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 16th, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Christ Church Anglican (46 - 13th Avenue South) in Cranbrook with Rev. Yme Woensdregt officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations to Christ Church Anglican "Memorial Fund" or the local SPCA would be greatly appreciated.

Arrangements entrusted to McPherson Funeral Service.
