Obituary of Peter Spyksma

Please share a memory of Peter to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father, and Pake, Peter Spyksma on January 26 2023. He was a man of few words, and he taught those around him how to live life with perseverance in faith. He loved Jesus and his family with all his heart. Peter was the kind of man who did whatever needed to be done, often doing it in the background without being asked.

He is survived by the love of his life of 46 years Sue; his children Jason and Stacey, Selina and Jason, Adam and Jenn, Devin and Shiyanne, his grandchildren; Jaylyn, Chase, Nathan, Emme, Azriel, Janoah, Jaron, Aleena; his mother-in-law Edith; his siblings, Bert, Bill, Ko, Bob, and Lucy; and in laws Bill, Andy, Nancy, and Sharon; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Peter passed peacefully and has gone home to join his parents, Jan and Jikke; his father in law Bill; his sister, Bea; his brother-in-law Bert, and sisters in law Jenny and Jean as well as many other loved ones in heaven with Jesus.

Funeral will be held on February 4th, 2023, at 1pm at the Knox Presbyterian Church, with burial and reception to follow. We invite all those who wish to join us in paying our respects.

In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to the Kootenay Christian Academy in his memory, to help support our local Christian School.
