Obituary of David William Visentin

Please share a memory of David to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David Visentin in Cranbrook on February 18th. Dave passed away peacefully with his family at his side.

David was born in Sudbury Ontario on October 14, 1954 to Bill and Norma Visentin. The family moved west to Calgary in 1968. His parents bought horses for David and his brother Paul to ease the transition of moving across the country and so began David’s love for all things western. He, in turn, bought ponies for his little sister, Catherine, whom he was devoted to, and all enjoyed many rides in the foothills of Alberta.

David graduated from Lethbridge College and had several career changes throughout his life beginning in renewable resources and finally to ownership of a company providing safety consulting to pipeline construction. David owned a small cattle ranch in Alberta and was at his happiest with his horse and cattle dog rounding up his herd. In recent years, David bought another home in Qualicum Beach and loved the ocean setting and hosting friends and family at his home. David was known for his kindness and devotion to others. He had an extended family that he dearly loved. Nyree, Malcolm and Ainsleigh along with their spouses and children were an important part of his life. They along with other friends and co-workers will surely miss him.

David recently became ill, and his brother, Paul, was able to bring him from Vancouver Island to Cranbrook to be with both Paul and Catherine for his final days.

David is predeceased by his parents and survived by his brother, Paul, and his wife Mance and their children and grandchildren, and his sister, Catherine, and her husband Bruce and their children and grandchildren.

A celebration of life will follow later in the year.
