Obituary of William Robert Wright

Please share a memory of William to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Bob passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on March 28th, 2023.

Bob’s entire working career was with Cominco in Pine Point and then in Kimberley until retirement. He was a Captain of the Kimberley Fire Department and volunteered many hours with various clubs over the years. He enjoyed his time at the lapidary shop at the Seniors Center in Cranbrook, polishing rocks, making jewelry and enjoying the friendships of other rock-hounds. Bob loved being outdoors, hunting, fishing, trapping, exploring and Tuesday night poker. He was happiest spending time with his 2 beloved grandsons and could be seen around town with them playing mini golf, fishing, hockey and at their baseball practices. Bob was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather to his family. He will be deeply missed.

Bob was predeceased by his parents, William and Bertha Wright (nee Cottam), and sister Sylvia Mintz.

Bob will be lovingly missed and remembered by his wife Deb, daughter Kendra (Trevor) Woynarski, grandsons Austin and Corbin, his sisters Darlene (Dan) Murphy, and Louise Benson as well as many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A special thank you is in order for Dr. S. Van Zyl and Dr. K. Buddo for your compassionate care, and especially to the Palliative Community Care nursing staff. Your support over the past few months was so appreciated.

A celebration of life will be held for Bob at a later date.
