Obituary of Jeffery Allen Curren
Please share a memory of Jeffery to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
We are saddened to announce the sudden passing of Jeffery Allen Curren of Kimberley, BC.
Jeff was born in Calgary, Alberta. He was the first child of Stanley and Sandy. The family moved to Black Diamond, Alberta in 1989 where Jeff spent his days as an athlete and boy scout. The family then moved to Kimberley, BC. where Jeff currently lived. Jeff met the love of his life Jessie Foisy in high school and have been together ever since. Jeff and Jessie have a daughter Lyla (6). Jeff loved his family and made sure their needs always came first.
Jeff loved taking Lyla skiing, climbing, swimming, hiking, camping and biking.
Jeff was an avid musician, playing numerous instruments, he started to play drums in his high school band – “Wretched Youth” – where he and his bandmates still got together periodically to jam. He also played with his Auntie Leslie (GAL) as her drummer. Jeff loved to teach the kids musical instruments. He would have them playing, singing, and having a dance party at the same time.
Jeff, as we all know was a gamer- Lyla is far more advanced than a 6-year-old would normally be. Hunter(nephew) would call Jeff for advice on how to beat a game, Jeff would take great pleasure in helping Hunter out. Jeff and his brother-in-law – Aidan would play at night once the family was asleep.
Jeff was also known as the “Fun Dad”, he would bring Lyla to the park and all the kids would gather around for some entertainment.
Jeff was truly there for everyone. He was always willing to drop everything and lend a helping hand to his family, friends or a stranger who was in need.
Jeff had many friends from every walk of life, he loved each and every one of them.
Jeff was part of his parents’ business doing snow removal in the winter, the family always got compliments on how polite, helpful, and how Jeff would always go above and beyond.
Jeff followed his dads’ footsteps working as a millwright, specializing in rebuilding turbines. He has a large work family, who have expressed their sorrow of Jeff passing. Jeff loved his job, but did not like being away from his family. He was so thankful to have his work family while away on his jobs.
Jeff was always ready for an adventure any time of day. He had a reputation in Kimberley as “Say no to Jeff.” For anyone who had the pleasure of knowing Jeff, they were never disappointed with the adventures he would carry out with them. That’s what stories are made of.
Jeff’s favorite sayings:
“Manners maketh Man”
“Praise the Sun”
“Love your Life”
