James D. Bailey

July 20, 1956 – May 13, 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of James Donald Bailey at the age of 66.

Jim was one who loved many things, some of his greatest loves being his cadets, jumping on the zamboni cleaning the ice at the rink and Como Lake, working with heavy-duty machinery. James loved strolling through Queens Park to watch wrestling and was also an avid sports fan. He loved his BC Lions, Vancouver Canucks, and his Coquitlam Adanacs. Jim’s most cherished love was the love he had for his family and friends and of course his cat Peanut. If Jim was your friend, you knew you had a friend who would do anything for you, but also someone you could count on he would give you the shirt off his back.

James will be survived by his brothers Stan (Heather), Roy (Geri) and sister Lorraine (Jamie), nieces and nephews Walter, Matthew, Ezra, Luke, Shawn, Melanie, Sarah, Emily, Rebecca-lee & Liz as well as great-nephew Easton and great-nieces Quinn, Lily, Grace, Charlotte, and Isabelle-lee.

James was predeceased by his parents Walter and Ethel Bailey.

A Celebration of life in honour of Jim will take place on Sunday, June 18, 2023 at 10am at McPherson Funeral Home in Cranbrook.
