Obituary of Courtney, Taylor & Hailey Johnson

Please share a memory of Courtney, Taylor & Hailey to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Courtney Miquel Johnson

 “Cruisin Courtney”

October 21, 1980 — June 1, 2023

Everyone who met Courtney remembers her infectious smile and laugh, which could brighten any room. Her love and compassion for others showed no limits. She had the ability to drive anything with an engine, leading her into the path of being a talented race car driver and winning the Cranbrook Hobbystock Championship against all the men.

She was able to show true empathy to all, which resonates in her five children. Becoming a mother to each of her children were her proudest moments.

Courtney is survived by her sons Chase and Tripp, her daughter Kinley and their father Randy Rothwell, Linda and Jack Chisholm, brother Miles (Cindy), sister Stacie (Josh) Long, Nanie Donna Rabuck and her nieces and nephews she adored, Kyam Jaxon and Brystol Chisholm and Berklee and Baylor Long.

Hailey Johnson

April 16, 2015 - June 1, 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Taylor and Hailey Johnson on June 1st, 2023 in a motor vehicle collision.

Taylor and Hailey were born in Calgary, Alberta on April 16th, 2015 to Matt and Courtney Johnson.  They grew up in Cranbrook and later moved to Jaffray where they quickly became an integral part of the Jaffray Elementary School and surrounding community.

Taylor was an amazing force of energy. She experienced significant health challenges, which she always faced with a positive attitude and a bright smile as she said "I'll never give up."  She was outgoing and would always introduce herself and her sister Hailey. Taylor's imagination always had her building Barbie villages and horse farms, which she would endlessly play with.

Hailey was wiser than her young years with her quick wit and ability to make anyone laugh.  She was not only great in math, but honest to the core. You would know if Hailey liked you as she wore her heart on her sleeve. She was hardworking and loved to help, no matter the job. On the farm, you would find her out herding cows and goats.

Taylor and Hailey were pure magic, sunshine in human form.  They brightened up everyone's lives from the moment they came into our family.  They taught us all how to be more playful, curious and lighthearted.  There will always be a place in our hearts where we hold them.

Taylor and Hailey are survived by their dad Matt, brothers Chase and Tripp, sister Kinley, grandparents Tom and Bernie Johnson, Linda and Jack Chisholm, Nanie Donna Rabuck, Uncle Miles (Cindy), Auntie Stacie (Josh) and cousins Kya, Jaxon, Brystol Chisholm and Berklee and Baylor Long, Uncle James (Tara), Auntie Krystal, Uncle Peter (Lynne), and Uncle Danny (Lyndsey) and numerous cousins.

A memorial service will take place for them and their mom Courtney on Saturday, June 10th, 2023 at 11:00 am at the Cranbrook Alliance Church.

A Celebration Of Life will be held to honour Hailey and Taylor on Saturday, June 10th, 2023 at 4:00 pm at the Jaffary Community Hall.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alberta Children's Hospital in Calgary, Alberta.
