Obituary of Annette Mary Macdonald
Please share a memory of Annette to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Born in Michel, BC November 20, 1946, the middle child of a family of 5 girls. She attended School in Sparwood, BC and still maintains contact with a number of classmates.
She took business training at Mount Royal College where she met her husband, who was attending SAIT.
She moved to Kimberley in 1969 after being married in 1967.
Initially she worked for the Royal Bank but left them to run her own clothing store for 25 years.
The store went through a number of name changes but ended up being Annette’s Men’s and Ladies Wear.
The store was closed and she retired in 1998. She took up golf and could be found on the Kimberley golf course several days a week. That all ended when her health started failing in 2018.
She was a people person and very much enjoyed talking to others, especially at the adult day program in The Pines on Wednesdays and Fridays.
She is survived by her two younger sisters Mary and Linda in Richmond, husband Ken in Kimberley, son Wesley (Alexandra) in Nanaimo, son Grant (Angela) and three grand children Ashley, Tristan, and Grayden in Edmonton.
A small graveside service for family and friends will be held at a later date.
