A big warm smile and a hearty laugh was your wonderful greeting every time we talked. I will remember the funny stories of you and Mum and Aunty Anne growing up in Stoke, of the exotic trips you took with Aunty Doreen and the special visits you made back to the UK.
I hope you are holding hands with your beloved Doreen.
Rest in peace.
Love and hugs.

A great uncle. He was an avid Stoke City supporter. He took me to my first football match at the Victoria ground. He told me, "you're going to see the greatest footballer who ever lived". It was of course Sir Stanley Mathew's. Also, happy days with him in his wood mill in Stoke on Trent doing my 'bob a job' chores with the cub scouts.

From my book, Bear Jam...Tuesday 21st August 2001
Woke early today at 0730. Went to play golf at Mission Hills, a three-par, nine-hole game on the 18-hole course. I drove the people carrier there after performing well in the test drive of Harry's Malibu last night. I performed ok on the golf course, shooting all 4s and 5s apart from a 2 on the eighth and a 9 on the ninth, due to the woods. Uncle Harry plays very well and shot 38, Aunty Doreen has a good swing but had some misfortune on the greens, shooting 44.
In the afternoon, Uncle Harry dropped me at the Idlewild Park – the former Cranbrook reservoir. Uncle Harry pointed to the trail and beckoned me to the trunk of the car. He thrust a large stick at me. "What's that for?" I asked. "Lynx. Just don't run and hot it on the nose!"
At night Uncle Harry and I played snooker – two frames all. Then we all watched ‘All in the Family’ – an American version of ‘In Sickness and in Health’. It is very funny, even more so to hear Uncle Harry laughing very loudly all the way through at such situations.

I am already missing Uncle Harry, memories of when I was a child and visits to their house in England, happy days, then our many emails covering all kinds of topics from football to politics, he loved keeping up to date with what was happening over here and getting family news and photo's.
The photo is of Harry meeting one of his heroes Sir Stanley Mathews, probably the greatest English footballer of all time taken shortly before they left for Canada.

I am sadden to hear of the passing of Harry. I have had the honor of having many great discussions with him about the past and future. He was an amazing regular at Mr. Mikes and will be deeply missed by all of us that had the chance to serve him, and to be able to call him a friend. Rest easy Harry, and our condolences to his family.

Harry was a lovely gentleman , he would come in to our chocolate Shoppe for his lattes and treats ..he always had lots of stories to share .
We all became very attached to him and made sure we made time for his visits. I was honoured to be gifted a beautiful hummingbird painting from Harry .
When my business partner and I sold the business we very much missed our visits with Harry
My condolences to all his family

Thank you Michelle for your lovely comments. Thank you too for looking after Harry so well on his visits to your coffee shop. He enjoyed his visits so much, he would often talk about them to me and about the lovely young ladies who took time for him. Look after yourself. Very best wishes, Debbie (one of Harry's nieces)

Mr. Chadwick was my favorite teacher in Jaffray. I was privileged to work with him during his volunteering at the Cranbrook visitor center as well. What a beautiful, gentle teacher and person. He had such a way of encouraging while teaching. His presence will certainly be missed in this world, and I hope he is resting and doing all the creative things he loves in the next. My sincere condolences to his family.

Lighting a candle in memory of my lovely Uncle Harry. Will miss our regular email chats, putting the world right and discussing interesting alternative health options. I still have so many health articles and books you sent. Our family have paintings of yours that will live on our walls always. Despite living so far away from his English family he was always still very much a part of it. Rest in Peace.
