1925 - 2011

It is with great sorrow that the family of Maria Carmina Buonerba announces her passing on Friday, March 4, 2011 at the F. W. Green Memorial Home in Cranbrook at 85 years of age.

Maria was born on August 2, 1925 in Forino, Italy. She was very family oriented and she loved to garden and cook. Maria enjoyed her weekly bocci, was outgoing and bubbly.

Maria is survived by her husband Sam; her daughters Rosa Mann (Tom) and Mary Lancaster (Brian Marriott); grandchildren Tavis Mann (Natalie), Kylie Nunn (Michael), Amanda Lancaster (Michael Atherton) and Sam Lancaster (Robyn MacDougall); great grandchildren Aubre, Isabella and Cora as well as numerous nieces and nephews, 3 brothers and 2 sisters. She was predeceased by her father Andrea, her mother Teresa and her sister Guisseppa.

A visitation for Maria will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at 6:00 pm at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Cranbrook followed by prayers at 7:00 pm. Her funeral Mass will take place at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church on Friday, March 11, 2011 at 10:00 am. Maria will be Interred in the Mausoleum in Westlawn Cemetery. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution in honour of Maria may do so to the F. W. Green Memorial Home or the charity of their choice.

The family would like to thank the staff at the F. W. Green Memorial Home for the care and compassion they gave Maria during her stay there.
