Obituary of Janet Madge von Wittgenstein

Please share a memory of Janet to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Mom was a talented artist, a skilled knitter, an amazing cook, but most of all a loving mom. She was always proud of her children. Mom had many grandchildren and great grandchildren, the most recent one being born and bringing her joy just a month before she left this life.  Mom married Kurt Gordon Baron von Wittgenstein in 1960, and had four children. Together they worked a farm with  various types of livestock, including prize, purebred Appaloosa horses. Mom was one of five children, born to parents James and Thelma Northey of Richmond BC, whose farm supplied eggs to half the lower mainland in the 1940’s/50’s. Mom was always proud to have once candled eggs for the Queen.  Mom had a saying about life: “This isn’t a dress rehearsal!”

She was loved and will be missed.  Thank you to the caregivers at the F. W. Green Memorial Home for the care that they provided to our mother in her final days. To those who knew her, please help out a lesser fortunate soul in her memory.
