Obituary of Mary Anne Gordon

Please share a memory of Mary to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Mary Anne Gordon (née) Mackenzie was a leap year baby, born on February 29, 1936.  She grew up on a farm in Carlin, BC and attended the one room Carlin school, before attending and graduating from Salmon Arm High School.  After graduation, she trained to be a Registered Nurse at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops.  Mary Anne moved to Invermere to take a position at Invermere General as an RN.   Invermere is where she met and married the love of her life, Dennis Gordon.  They worked in several BC cities before eventually returning and settling in Cranbrook, where son Michael was born. Mary Anne worked at Cranbrook General Hospital until retirement.  She and Dennis enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting around BC. They spent several winters in Massett, on Haida Gwai, fishing and exploring. She was an adventurous, cheerful, and caring person and an amazing mother. She will be lovingly remembered by her family and many friends.  Mary Anne is survived by her son Michael Gordon and on the Mackenzie side of the family, sister Judy Coutts, brothers John (Judy) and Dick Mackenzie. She is predeceased by her husband, Dennis, brother Roderick and her parents, Neil and Lila Mackenzie.
