Obituary of Grant Clifford Leeson

Please share a memory of Grant to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with deep sadness that we have to say goodbye to our beloved husband, father, grand and great-grand father, dog-dad and friend, Grant Clifford Leeson.

Grant passed away peacefully on October 19th, 2023, with his loving wife Beverley (Bev) of nearly 60 years by his side.

Grant was born to Dorothy and Harry Leeson on December 27, 1942, in Nipawin Saskatchewan. He married his childhood sweetheart Beverley (nee Horton) on January 18, 1964 in Mill Bay, BC.

Grant was second oldest of his six siblings: Ron, Garry, Dale, Lila, Lane and Arlene. He was predeceased by his parents, sister Lila (Brower-Berkhoven),, and grandson Thomas (Main), his beloved puppies: Tuddles, Sparky, Gizmo, Penny and Pebbles and countless friends.

Grant is survived by his wife Beverley Joan Lesley and their two daughters Lorrie (ex- John MacDonald) and Linda (ex- Sam Merrick) and their children: Angela, Roy, Cliff, David, Jeffery, Seanna and Salem and their children: Zack, Leva and Nyla and his constant doggy companions: Emily and Faith.

He worked at his trade of carpentry both as a contractor and an innovator until he retired, after which he worked as a security guard for Mtn Eagle. He always gave generously of his time and tools to help friends and family with their projects, both large and small.

Grant had an eye for the “perfect angle’ which manifested in much of his life’s work and hobbies. In his earlier years he enjoyed winning at pool, strumming the guitar and did lots and lots of fishing. He always had a keen retort and a humorous point of view for most situations.

He will be dearly missed and will always be remembered for his woodworking talent, sharp wit, and kind/loving heart.

A celebration of life will be held in Grant’s honor as opposed to traditional funeral services. We invite everyone who loved and was touched by this incredible man to join us in a celebration of his life at Royal Canadian Legion Branch 24 Cranbrook. B.C. November 1st, 2023, at 11:00 am.
