Ann was born in Mayook, B.C, the daughter of Mary and Basil Bulkot. Ann passed away peacefully at Joseph Creek Care Village where she had comfortably resided for the past 6 years. She gained a lot of extended family there. The staff was exceptionally good to her. Ann was a cashier at the Van Horne Grocery and at the Overwaitea for many years. She co-owned the L.D. Ranch at Cherry Creek with her son Gary and Dorothy. Ann and Bert moved to Princeton, B.C. for Bert's work at the Princeton Airport, and then back to Cranbrook where she resided for the rest of her days. Ann enjoyed the games of chance, and her trips to Las Vegas, Reno and Bonners. Ann is survived by her son Gary and Dorothy Lancaster; grandson Keith and Crystal Lancaster (their children Cory, Jessica and Nicole); all of Cranbrook, BC, grandson Brian and Heather Lancaster (their children Danielle, Michael, Alix, Kaed and Quin); of Calgary, AB, two sisters Laura Godderis of Cranbrook and Mary and John Dunbar of Kelowna, B.C. and many nieces and nephews.
Ann was predeceased by her parents Mary and Basil Bulkot, her daughter Barbara Ann Lancaster. Her spouse of 40 years Albert N. Whiting, and her sisters Katherine Anderson and Staffie Citra, all of Cranbrook and great granddaughter Tory Lindsay Lancaster of Calgary, Alberta.
The service for Ann will be Friday, March 18, 2011 at 10:00 am at Christ The Servant Roman Catholic Church on 14th Avenue South. Interment will be in Westlawn Cemetery, following the reception at the church. If you choose to make a memorial donation, it would be to the charity of your choice.
