I am late writing this but I would like to say Ervine and I met on a highway construction site. We instantly made good friends . It was hunting season and he knew I wanted an elk. He kept teasing me that he had one tied up in his front yard for me. Anyway he took me hunting and I swear every time I went to shoot one he would make an excuse like there’s a house there or we were not aload to hunt there. But he was the one that took me there. After all that I realized he was a gatherer and not a hunter. lol Ervine was a good hearted soul and after that fall I never saw him again but we did talk on the phone every month for the next 5 years . I am going to miss are talks my friend and I will never forget you.RIP if you can as i know you have a lot to say.

I just wanted to say I called him Ervine when I do know he went by Irvine . No one ever got it right many will know what I’m talking about. Lol

I only today read the sad news of Irvin's passing. I met Irvine when he came to work for me in Kooteney National Park as we (Dawson Construction ) were building some wildlife underpasses. Irvine always kept himself busy. I never had to ask him to do something , he saw what was needed and did it. We connected on a personnel side as I grew up in the cattle business and we talked bull riding, cattle and farming. I thoroughly enjoyed those talks. He brought several pictures to show me of his bull riding adventures and talked about how he kept an elk in his back yard for hunting season. Great person. I am fortunate to have known him. I was shocked to hear of Irvine’s passing. I have known Irvine and his family for many years and will always remember him with a smile on his face and laughing. When we talked he always had such a positive outlook on things. Please accept our condolences Byron/Jean Voss
