Obituary of Gawain Boden
Please share a memory of Gawain to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
William Penn wrote, “For death is no more than a turning of us over from time to eternity.” Gawain’s time with us began on August 13, 1970, and, tragically, ended far sooner than any of us wanted or expected — on March 6, 2024. Gawain was the second son of his mother, Ruth Boden, and his father, Alan Boden (deceased); brother to Sean and Andrew; and stepson to Claus Kessler. While Gawain’s time here was neither easy nor his struggles slight, we loved him all the same — deeply and profoundly. We hope he takes with him into the lightness of eternity, the certainty that our love for him won’t cease.
Gawain was many things: a graduate of Mount Baker High School in 1988, a student at the College of the Rockies and the University of Victoria, and for many years, an amateur hockey player and a competitive swimmer with the Cranbrook Triton Swim Club. For all his life, Gawain was a lover of animals, large and small. He often had a sense of what they were feeling and they, him. If you’d like to remember Gawain, please consider a donation to the Cranbrook SPCA.
We’ll be holding a private service for Gawain, at a later date
