So saddened by the passing of Spencer. He was such a great young man and the best neighbour I have ever had. I had the opportunity to watch him grow up battling adversity and physical challenges. I know he looked up to me but I will always look up to him for being an honest and true friend to me and I thank him for that. He has a heart of gold and and will forever be in my thoughts. Love you , Alan

To My Dearest Spencer,
You were my first born grandchild. I was at the hospital when you were born. That was so very special. It was so exciting to see your father walking proudly down the hall of the hospital, with this blue bundle in his arms.
You were such a huge piece of my life. You brought much joy to me and I am extremely proud and pleased to have the honour of being your "My Nan". I called you my sunshine.
You were always so happy and such a charmer making friends with total strangers. Everyone loved you.
You were without doubt the most dare devil child I ever knew. No mountain was ever to high and no lake to deep, You were the bravest most fun loving child I have ever known. The only exception to that would be clowns and painted faces. You really, really disliked them.
You were a total delight.
When you unexpectedly loose a treasured grandson it is double grief. We also witness the pain and suffering of our daughter and her husband. This pain is something you can not take away.
As a mother, grandmother, great grandmother you think you should be able to fix things. Some things just can't be fixed.
Spencer you added so much joy and laughter to so many lives.. You will be so sadly missed by all of us.
Spencer you have left this world but you will never leave our hearts!
Love you always and forever.

We'll never forget Spencer, kind-hearted and full of spirit, whose laughter seemed to echo around our Pickering neighbourhood or maybe that was the noise of his dirt bike. Oh, the adventures - whether splashing in our pool, biking in the hydro fields or exploring Crystal Lake cottage with my kids and us adults!
A tenacious young man who dipped his toes into every opportunity with a hearty dash of excitement - all thanks to his parents' support. Our hearts are heavy, yet warmed by countless memories. Until we meet again in that great hydro field in the sky!

I have no words to express my sincere sorrow for the loss of Spencer at such a young and vibrant age. He was always a go getter, chance taker, moment maker, and funny guy. I had the honour of spending some very fun summer's together back in our teens, hanging out at my cousin's house or cottage. The antics you and your dad would get into like midnight sandwiches, those memories never get old. Rest in peace bud.

The Cotie’s built two of our pools in Pickering and were our neighbors down the street. I first met Spencer when he was ripping a bobcat like nothing I’d ever seen. My young son Cameron would watch Spencer endlessly and Spencer gave him a ride in the bobcat one day and Cameron talked about it for a week. I used to walk to the Cotie’s to buy our pool chemicals and Cameron would always make me take him in the wagon so he could see Spencer. Spencer was good to my kids and the Cotie’s were a great family, and friends to us. Much love and my deepest condolences to the Cotie Family.
