Obituary of Brian Rhodes
The family of Brian Rhodes is incredibly saddened to announce his sudden passing on March 3, 2024, surrounded by his family and loved ones.
Brian was born to Ted and Hilda Rhodes in London, Ontario, November 2nd, 1950. He has lived in many ski towns throughout his lifetime, finally settling in Kimberley.
He had an extreme passion for his work. He loved his career in the Ski Industry and in Real Estate. Brian was driven to take the utmost care of his clients in both industries that he worked in. Brian also greatly enjoyed working on timber framing and woodworking projects in his spare time.
He is a current member of the Canadian Ski Instructors Alliance and the Canadian Ski Coaches Federation. He was the co-founder of the famous “Rec Rut Runners” that ran on Thursday evenings at the Ski Hill. He loved coaching, setting courses and skiing with them. The meetings and prizes in the Stemwinder at the end of the evening were always a highlight.
Brian loved holidays at the Shuswap, summer night bbq’s at the lake, boating with his family, watching his grandkids surfing in the summer and skiing with them in the winter. We never lost him in a crowd, we just listened to his hearty laugh. He leaves behind, his wife Gerry, his son Travis (Sabrina), his Grandkids, Tanner and Brianna, his sister, Cathy (Rom), Marie, Aunt Olive, Uncle Dave, many cousins, nieces, nephews, and his dog Zena.
A Celebration of Brian’s Life will be held on April 13th, from 2 - 5PM at the Stemwinder, Kimberley Ski Resort.
