Obituary of Nancy Irene Pearl Wells
Please share a memory of Nancy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
We announce with great sadness the passing of Nancy Irene Pearl Wells in the early evening hours of Monday June 3rd, 2024, at the Cranbrook hospital.
Born June 18th, 1949, in London, Ontario. As the middle of 3 sisters Nancy grew up in London until a mutual friend connected her with her future husband Treck Wells.
At 19 years old Nancy committed her life to Treck, moving to the Valley. She worked hard to grow new roots within her new husband's large family.
In 1976 Treck and Nancy were blessed with a boy of their own, Raymond (aka. Ray). Two years later they provided Ray with a little brother, James (aka. Jimmie).
Beavers, Camping trips, volunteering at her son's schools, giving her time daily as a lunch time supervisor, and working the concession stand and beer gardens at the Edgewater Ball Diamond suited her social butterfly heart. A&W, Fields, Mean Jean's, Canada Post office, and the SAAN store were just a few other social engagements that Nancy had disguised as employment.
Her razor-sharp wit and sense of humour showcased her quiet intelligence, making her such an entertaining person to be around. Her willingness to accept new ideas and embrace technology helped keep us confused about what generation she belonged to. Nancy always had a welcoming and accepting spirit, frequently inheriting Jimmie and Ray's friends as bonus children.
Tanya became Nancy's bonus daughter at a time when Tanya was already fully grown with children of her own. The pride Nancy and Treck shared for their grandchildren continued to grow as Ray and Jim started their families. It was evident to all that being a grandmama was a life purpose realized.
Nancy seemed to have an extra tank of energy for maintaining family relationships. She lived for others and those special connections were her greatest source of joy.
Nancy was predeceased in death by her younger sister and best friend, Joann Lucas, her husband of 54 years, and witty battle partner Treck Wells, her mother Bernice Judge (Borebank) and father (John Judge) as well as too many other friends and family who were dear to her. Nancy's passion for the numerous important people in her life cannot be overstated.
She is an absolutely irreplaceable and adored matriarch and friend who will be dearly missed.
