Shirley Argue of Cranbrook BC passed away on July 12, 2024. She is survived by her children Sandra (Alex), Kevin (Helen), her grandchildren Lindsay (Tony), Kevin, Rebecca, Yves and her great grandchildren Jasper, Albie and Wilco. Shirley was predeceased by her husband James Argue.
Shirley was born on June 7, 1937 in Montreal, Quebec. She loved spending time with family and friends in Greenfield Park, Quebec. A highlight of her childhood was going to camp every summer with her sisters.
Shirley married her jitterbug dance partner Jim in 1958. They started a family in 1959 and were happily married for 58 years. She took great pride in her role as Homemaker, Mother, and Wife. When her children became teenagers she re-entered the workforce in Women’s Retail Sales. Shirley worked for 18 years and finished her final year managing a store in Guildford Mall in Surrey. During these years Jim and Shirley went on many fantastic vacations, Hawaii and Mexico were her favourites.
Soon after retirement they moved to Cranbrook to be close to family and built a beautiful home. They took advantage of the many outdoor opportunities Cranbrook had to offer and became avid walkers, mountain bikers and cross country skiers.
During this time Shirley was passionate about her garden, volunteering and spending time with family, especially grandchildren and later great grandchildren.
Her final years were spent at FW Green where she benefited from the amazing competence and care of the entire staff.
Shirley Argue was a proud, stylish, cheeky, direct and always well put together lady!
