Obituary of Louise Marie Furlinger
Please share a memory of Louise to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved mother Louise Marie Furlinger,
who left us peacefully on July 11, 2024 at the age of 89 in Cranbrook B.C.
Louise was born in Fort Chipewyan, AB on September 3, 1934. She was raised in a family of
13 other siblings, being the third oldest. Her father Philip Mandeville ( Helena) worked away
either at the Trading Post or as a park ranger. Louise was always busy helping her mother with
her siblings and household duties.
Louise was always devoted to her Catholic faith and as a child dreamed of becoming a Nun.
On a trip to Edmonton AB she met her husband Edward Furlinger and was wed on December
9, 1955 in Fort Smith, NT. They resided in BC most of their years working in the coal mine and
raising their 3 children.
She was always a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her the most,
offering support, wisdom and an abundance of love. She was always busy providing for her
family making clothes, cooking and baking, and working at the mine. She made time for herself
to enjoy her hobbies of knitting and crocheting, puzzle making, gardening, curling and some
guitar and harmonica.
Louise was predeceased by her husband Ed in 2020. She leaves behind her 3 children Doug
(Jennifer) , Lynette and Brian , her two sisters Arlene and Barbara and 5 grandchildren.
We would like to express our thanks to all the nurses and staff at Joseph Creek Care Village for
all their care and support.
There will be no services held at this time.
Rest in Peace dear Mother. Your memory will remain forever in our hearts.
