Obituary of Joseph John Louis Daignault
John passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2014 at East Kootenay Regional Hospital with his family by his side. He was born in Cardston, Alberta on July 30, 1934 to John B. Daignault and Eve Godin Daignault and was the sixth of eight children.
As a boy, John started working for the City Dairy delivering milk by horse and cart. He worked in local sawmills and then as a carpenter as an adult.
John played his fiddle at many dances and informal gatherings. He was a part of many bands including The Shetland Trio along with his brother Fred and Arlo Learn. He also liked to camp with family and friends.
John is survived by his children Louie, Shelley, Tracey and step daughters Cindy and Sandra. He is also survived by his brothers Fred Daignault and Hector (Bev) Daignault, 6 grandchildren, 2 step granddaughters and 5 great grandchildren, a large extended family and many friends.
John was predeceased by his second wife Mary Dupuis, daughter-in-law Diane Daignault, brothers Arthur, Paul and Armand and sisters Therese and Francoise and his parents.
The family would like to thanks Dr. Slocova, Dr. Ries and the doctors and nursing staff in the emergency department and the 3rd floor for their wonderful care and understanding.
There will be no service by John's request. Cremation has taken place. If desired, memorial donations may be made to your charity of choice.
