Obituary of Robert Andrew Tarrant

Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

With sadness, we announce the passing of Robert (Bob) Tarrant on Friday, July 26, 2024. He was 79 and would have been 80 in a few weeks. Born on 20 August 1944 in Southampton England and emigrated with his wife and children to Canada in the early seventies, settling in Calgary, Alberta. In his youth, he worked as an underwater welder in the UK, and an oilpatch welder in Alberta, then became a cost & scheduling engineer and worked as far away as Usinsk, Siberia. He and Christine eventually retired to Radium Hot Springs to pursue his love of golf and enjoy the beautiful scenery of British Columbia where they have remained.

Bob is survived by his wife Christine (Chris), his children, Andrew, Glenn, and Deborah (Debbie) and her husband Randy Younker, and his grandchildren, Alexander (Andrew), Lynden, Tanner, Jordan, Sidney (Debbie & Randy). Additionally, he leaves behind his sister Christina (Tina), her husband Angus, their daughter Claire, and numerous in-laws, nieces, and nephews on Chris’ side of the family.

He was pre-deceased by his parents Reginald (Jock) and Mary Tarrant and his brother Richard who passed too young at the age of 8. We like to think that now Bob is somewhere with Richard teaching him how to play golf.

A Celebration of Life will be held soon at the Edgewater Clubhouse and a gathering will also be held in Calgary later this summer. Details TBA.
