Obituary of Dustin Lawrence Oakley

Please share a memory of Dustin to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of our dear son, brother, grandson and friend, Dustin Oakley. Dustin lived his life to the fullest. He was outgoing, stubborn, hardworking but most of all kind-hearted. One of Dustin’s many true loves and passions were the outdoors. He spent a lot of his time shooting his bow, fishing, hunting, hiking and exploring all the wonders of the great outdoors. Dustin began working at the young age of 13 at the post mill. Later, a job at the tire shop and eventually after high school becoming a skidder operator in the logging industry. Dustin’s family and friends always came first.

Dustin also enjoyed riding horses and working alongside his mom Jessica. He loved to make others smile with his shit eating grin that was infectious and usually followed with a smart-ass remark which made his relationships all that much more fun and important. Dustin had a true love for animals. Koda, Dustin’s dog was his true best friend. They had a bond that was truly remarkable.

Dustin is survived by his mother Jessica (Steve) Cook, father Wade (Hayley) Oakley, stepfather Jesse Faiers. Brothers Joshua, Austin and Rhett, stepsisters Havenna, and Razaya. Grandparents Gary and Wendy Cook, Jamie and Brenda Oakley, Shelley Faiers. Aunts, uncles, cousins and forever friends.

Dustin was predeceased by his best friend Koda.

Please join our family on what would have been Dustin’s 23rd birthday on September 28, 2024, from 1:00 – 4:00pm at The Three Bars Guest Ranch (River) for a time to honor and remember Dustin. The family would like to ask If you have a (4X6) photo you can bring, as we will be building a memory board at the Celebration of Life.

(Shared memories of Dustin will be at 1:30pm. Please bring your own chair).
