Obituary of Shirley Joyce Tadey

Please share a memory of Shirley to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Shirley Joyce Tadey (nee Todosichuk) announce her peaceful passing Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital. Though we are heartbroken by her passing, we find comfort in knowing that she is no longer in pain and can finally rest in peace.

Joyce never stopped fighting and was always determined and stayed strong when dealing with her health issues. Through her we know what resilience and perseverance look like. Just because she is no longer here, it doesn’t mean she lost her fight.

She was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother foremost and was the foundation of our family. Joyce was always concerned for the well-being of others over her own and always had a hug if you needed one.

Joyce was loved and will be dearly missed by her daughter Shelly (Bill), granddaughter Chantel (Steve), great grandchildren Liam and Holly, sister Judy (Gene), “sister” Kay and other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 58 years John, infant son John Michael, daughter Lori, parents Michael and Olga Todosichuk, and special friend Renee Fisher.

The family invites those who can join them for a Celebration of Life at McPherson Funeral Home on Saturday, October 12th, 2024 at 11:00 am.  We ask that you wear bright colors to celebrate Joyce’s life.

A special thank you to family and friends that have taken the time to call, visit or fix her iPad/oxygen machine, you made her days brighter and easier.

We would like to extend our gratitude to the wonderful staff of Joseph Creek for their kindness and care towards mom the past two years.

We would also like to extend our gratitude to the physicians and nurses who cared for mom during her last admission to EKRH. Dr. C. Shilhan, Wilma and Nikki, your compassion and caring helped us when we needed it the most.

Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
