Donald James Head (Jim) passed away peacefully on Sept 21, 2024, in his home at Wasa B.C.
Jim was born on Dec 23, 1935, in Eyebrow Saskatchewan. Jim was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, brother and friend who touched the lives of so many around him with his humor and kindness.
Jim is survived by his wife Lorraine Head, his daughter Melinda (Jim), Lisa (Brody), many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Gordon and sister Phillis Gowen, both of Saskatchewan. He was preceded by his daughter Betty Holte.
Jim had a passion for old time dancing and spent many hours at the accordion festivals in Kimberley. He will be missed by many Kimberley and Wasa residents, who will remember him for his unwavering smile and willingness to make his community a better place.
His family wishes to thank all the doctors and support staff who helped make his last month’s endurable. Special thanks to the Cranbrook Hospital, Interior Health and the Kimberley Medical Clinic, and a special thank you to Dr. Shaun Van Zyl.
