Obituary of Joshua Edward Margison

Please share a memory of Joshua to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joshua Edward Margison on October 18, 2024.

Josh was welcomed into the world by his mother Angela Margison and father Euguene Mickelson 41 years ago.  He was a little brother to Nashira Margison and welcomed by grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins!  Josh eventually earned the title of 'fun uncle' to Justin, Jasmine and Trenton.

Josh was well known in Cranbrook and Wasa area; his vibrant smile and big heart was familiar to many as he was always ready with a kind word or conversation.  A compassionate soul even as a child he would bring home any animal he found and proudly share stories of his adventures with anyone who he crossed paths with.    Josh was always an avid reader and a creative writer which he practiced somehow while simultaneously listening to his beloved heavy metal music. When Josh found a passion he was very focused on seeing it succeed; becoming a very young entrepreneur in his young years making devil sticks and selling them at Body Talk; these sticks had to be balanced and wrapped just right to work.  Every teenager in Cranbrook had a set of these!

His love of the outdoors led him to working as a chainsaw operator in the forest until his accident. His determination helped him pull through all of the challenges he faced and was able to learn to become self-independent again due to his focus and diligent hard work.

Josh was predeceased by his father Eugene Mickelson; grandparents Edna and John Margison and Stella and John Mickelson.  Josh was a best friend to his sister and always was a momma's boy at heart.

Josh is survived by his mom Angela Margison, sister Nashira Margison, niece & nephews as well as aunties, uncles, and other family members.

Josh had a passion for helping people as much as he could when they needed a hand; always an open door, chat and coffee for anyone.  He was well known in Cranbrook for walking his dog, GDO, and never hesitated to stop and speak to anyone and share a laugh.   He had a huge heart and will be missed by many.

A Celebration of Life in Josh’s memory and honour will be held at 1:00 pm November 9th, 2024 at McPherson Funeral Home in Cranbrook B.C.
