It’s hard to pick just a few memories to share about growing up with Harley and Marion. There really aren’t any memories that don’t include them both. Always together, always smiling and having a good time. They taught me and any of my friends that wanted to learn how to water ski. Marion was an expert boat driver and Harley was the enthusiastic teacher. They could get anyone out of the water no matter what. I remember Harley would get in the water beside you on his trick ski and grab your life jacket and effortlessly help guide you up while Marion drove the boat at the perfect speed. I recall going skiing with someone else once and it was so apparent just how precise Marion’s boat driving skills were and Harleys teaching skills were. I never skied with anyone else ever again. They were pure magic together.
My elementary and high school days growing up were spent downhill skiing in the winter. I grew up on Panorama Ski Hill. Marion managed the ticket office while Harley managed the Mountain Operations ensuring the lifts were running top notch. I was always greeted with a big smile, warm hug and “are we having fun yet”? From Harley. He always had a twinkle in his eye and the biggest smile no matter what! He always had time to chat and we always had a ride home after skiing if we needed.
My family spent many weekends camping and fishing, Christmas and Thanksgiving dinners, getting wood (the old fashioned way, driving around looking for it, cutting, splitting and stacking in the truck then having a picnic after all the hard work was done). Truly the memories are extensive and always happy good ones. I am forever going to miss that smiling face, big hugs and “are we having fun yet?” Harley you were One In A Million and are incredibly missed by all who had the pleasure of calling you a friend. I am forever grateful to have called you family. Xoxo

I use to look forward to Harleys return to Wellton for the winter. A true gentleman and friend. We spent lots of time flying and conversing about RC modeling and flying. I'm a better person for the times we spent together and having the privilege of calling him my friend. Prayers and condolences to the family. RIP Harley.
