In Loving Memory

Mary Doris (Joyce) Bull

It is with heavy heart that we announce the passing of our Wife and Mother, at the age of 74 years young on November 6, 2024, at Cranbrook Regional Hospital. Joyce was survived by husband Lorne, son Scott, daughter Kathy, grandsons Joshua and Justin, and granddaughter Alexa.

Joyce and Lorne moved to British Columbia in 1970 due to Lorne’s career and to start their new life. Making many friends through the years at work and organizations they volunteered with.

Joyce was a compassionate, caring and kind person. Many times, in her life she always offered help to people. She would give her time to volunteer with The Legion, Seniors Hall, Better at Home, The Red Cross, The Hospital Auxiliary, and many other places. She loved to bring seniors together, cooking and baking up a storm for events, as this was something she was wonderful at. She was particularly passionate about making sure seniors were busy, so it would ward off Dementia. She believed in not having an idle mind and staying active was the way to do this. Other things she enjoyed were painting, gardening, and anyone that knew her, knows how much she loved shopping, her favorite was at the Dollar Store.

This past year Joyce was diagnosed with Lung Cancer. She battled it with courage and brave efforts, and believed she would beat this terrible disease. On this journey her family stood by her in hopes that she would survive. However, the disease was too advanced when she found out and took this wonderful person too soon from so many.

We give thanks to the Cranbrook Hospital staff who did so much for our wife, mom, grandmother and friend where she passed peacefully.

A celebration of life will be held at The Legion on Thursday November 28, 2024, 11-1pm.
