Condolences to the Family:
We met Cliff your dad through our mom Morlene, (or Cliff called her Mo) many years ago. He showed us around his home when he lived in Cranbrook and pointed out his wife picture Doris who had passed. He loved to camp at Koocanusa Lake, which is where we went fishing/camping with our youngest children Sarah and Thomas and swam in the lake. Cliff talked about his family and his previous time as a truck driver, which in those days would have taken him away from his family alot. Everytime we visited BC, we would end up visiting with Cliff who also spent countless nights watching a hockey game or two. Once he moved into Assisted Living in Cranbrook, he was still visited daily by Mo. We came to embrace Cliff as part of the family and it was a privilege getting to know him. We will miss him at breakfast gatherings at ABC Restaurant and the hugs he shared.
Always Jim and Patricia Smallbones

My sincere sympathy to Cliff and Kevin and family. Cliff will be missed. I met Cliff at the Cranbrook pool, Cliff shared his time with me. We really enjoyed our season tickets to the Kootenay Ice games! Cliff taught me to fish from a boat, camp in a 5th wheel and drove me through magical backcountry in a side by side. I am so thankful for the 13 years I had with Cliff. He was my loving friend.

My condolences to Cliff and Kevin and their families for their loss of Cliff Sr. Doris and Cliff were a very big part of my and my son Blair’s life between 1992 and 2000 as Doris was his babysitter. Cliff was also very involved in his care and was an important adult in Blair’s early life. Cliff was kind and caring with Blair and I and he had a good sense of humour. We had many cups of coffee together and a few meals over the years. Cliff and Doris were always hospitable and had an open-door for us. We visited them often in their Annex home in Fernie. We also visited them at their cabin at Edwards Lake and in Cranbrook when they moved there. We visited Cliff in Cranbrook after Doris was gone, he definitely missed her. I am sorry he is gone.
