Obituary of Anton Ollenberger

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Anton “Tony” Ollenberger on January 22, 2025.
Born in Loon Lake Saskatchewan 1932, the youngest of 12 children , many of whom died at birth. He grew up in the bush eating fish, grouse, deer & rabbit(which he no longer cared for later in life).
Only having a grade 8 education he would go on to try many different jobs & business ventures including another 5 year stint at farming. Eventually settling on being a carpenter until his retirement in his early 60’s.
Married at 25 to a “slightly “ younger lady he would go on to travel the world and eventually have 8 children with his young bride and mother in tow to help out.
Starting in Goodsoil, they moved to Ft Vermilion, then New Zealand, Hawaii, then back to Canada in Vancouver, the Chinook Valley in Alberta, Yahk, BC, Cranbrook to Wardner then ultimately back to Cranbrook for the remainder of his life.
Survived by his wife of 67 years Clara Ollenberger(Zugelder), Sister in-law Elizabeth Urlacher(Zugelder), his 8 children, Sarah(Ernie Alexander), Cindy(Jim Abar), Laura(Doug Eastman), Theresa(Jerry Thibeault), Levine(Julie) Ollenberger, Denise(Doug Irwin), Yvonne(Reg Wojnar), Adrienne(Tom Archer), 28 grandchildren & countless great grandchildren he lived a life full of adventure and family.
A Funeral Service for Tony will be held on February 1st 2025 at 10am, at McPherson Funeral Home in Cranbrook, British Columbia , 2200 2nd street south.
