April 4, 1924 - May 31, 2010

George Desrosiers, beloved husband of Madelyn Desrosiers, passed away on Monday, May 31, 2010 at the age of 86 years. George was born in Cranbrook, B.C., and was the tenth of twelve children of Joseph (Pop) and Florence Desrosiers. George was raised on the family farm near Jaffray, B.C., in the Sand Creek District.

George is survived by his wife of 51 years, Madelyn, and their three children, Susan Spence (Hank) of Calgary, AB, Mike Desrosiers (Liz) of Cranbrook, BC and Murray Desrosiers (Sheri) of Calgary, AB, and his 6 special grandchildren, Cody, Derek, Sage, Cole, Brooke and Jordan. George is also survived by his sisters, Beatty Reay of Oliver, BC and Rita Gillespie (Charlie) of Grande Prairie, AB and his brother, Ernie Desrosiers (Marlene) of Jaffray, BC and numerous nieces and nephews.

George spent most of his working career as a member of the Tunnel and Rock Workers Union of British Columbia, Local 168 where he was recognized for his long term service. He worked on many projects in the Cranbrook area including the police station, fire hall, McPhee and Wardner Bridges and Cranbrook City Reservoir to name a few.

At George's request, a memorial service will not be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Association @ www.jdrf.ca or 6450 Roberts St. #150, Burnaby, BC V5G 4E1
