Obituary of Carl Rutko

1921 - 2011

It is with deep sorrow that the family of Carl Rutko announces his passing on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 in Cranbrook, British Columbia at 89 years of age.

Carl was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather who lived a full and beautiful life. We will miss you and our love will always be with you dad.

Carl is survived by his children: Theresa, Rosemarie, Arnold, Donald and Patricia; grandchildren: Donovan, Melissa, Sheena, Ebony, Stephen, Nicholas, Thomas, Kyle, Stephanie and Cassandra; great grandchildren: Dex, Kodi and Avrie; and sister: Lena Zander. He was predeceased by his spouse Olga Rutko, his parents Steve and Mary Rutko and his grandson Sheldon Rutko.

A visitation and reception for Carl will be held at McPherson Funeral Home in Cranbrook on Friday, May 6, 2011 from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Divine Liturgy for Carl will take place at St. Aiden Orthodox Church at 201 - 7th Avenue South at 9:00 am on Saturday, May 7, 2011. Interment will follow in Westlawn Cemetery. Everyone is welcome for a time of fellowship and a reception in honour of Carl at 1001 - 29th Avenue South in Cranbrook following the Interment at 1:30 pm. Memorial donations in honour of Carl may be made to the: Canadian Cancer Society, 19 - 9th Avenue South, Cranbrook, British Columbia, V1C 2L9.
